Baroque Collonade St. Peter's Square Rome

Designed by Gian Lorenzo Bernini from 1656 to 1667, the elliptical forecourt of St. Peter’s in Rome is a truly stunning sight. The colossal colonnades which encircle the trapezoidal piazza are considered a masterpiece of baroque architecture.
